Let us start by saying this is NOT a trip for those of us who are not fond of heights on this is a trip with a view!

The trip is an hour long feast of fun as you wind your way through open country road heading out through Shropshire, skirting around the edges of Wrexham and into the Welsh countryside.

The 18-arched stone and cast iron structure which spans the River Dee is for use by narrowboats and pedestrians only and was completed in 1805 having taken ten years to design and build.

At just 12 ft (3.7 metres) wide and 336 yards ( 307 meters ) in length it is the longest aqueduct in Great Britain at 336 yards (307 metres). Standing 126ft (38 metres) tall it is also the highest canal aqueduct in the WORLD!
A footpath runs alongside the watercourse on one side.

Be sure to take your camera for this is one experience that you will not forget in a hurry!

Crossing can either be made on foot or by boats for hire on this trip, either of which are sure to impress.
